Description
This folding razor has black color horn blades and a sharp steel blade joined with a brass rivet. The tip of the handle at the pivot point is covered with a knotted textile. The razor blade is incised with a double-curved hunting bow symbol near the pivot hinge and the blade is marked "THE ORIGINAL AND ONLY GENUINE BOW RAZOR / MANUFACTURED SOLELY BY / WADE & BUTCHER". The manufacturers were William Butcher who partnered with his younger brother Samuel Butcher, and later with Robert Wade, Sr. as cutlers and edged tool makers.
