Description
A pair of ivory woman's gloves, made of kid leather. These are elbow length and fasten with three mother of pearl buttons. The button plackets are reinforced with linen. The interiors of the gloves are stamped with makers marks: B is stamped "Jouvin & Cie, Medaille d'or 1849/1867" and A is stamped "Manufactured for Homer le Boutillier & Co., Philadelphia." These marks indicate that the gloves were manufactured in France for export to Homer le Boutillier & Co, a Philadelphia dry goods store.
