Description
Brown ribbed silk dress probably worn by Elizabeth Budd Bartram, wife of John Bartram's son, Moses (1731-1809). Altered to accomodate one of her thirteen pregnancies. Bodice pins in the fornt; lined in plain-weave, natural-colored linen. Back pleates taper towards waist at center back. Bodice and skirt sewn together at back. Apron-front skirt not lined. Skirt pleated at the waist. Corded drawstring to tie the apron at the front. Three-quarter length sleeves with removable cuffs.
