Description
A gold ring with a hexagonal bezel set with braided brown hair. This ring’s slender circular band or shank is fitted to a cropped cornered frame that holds a piece of domed beveled glass (giving the bezel an overall octagonal appearance). Underneath the crystal glass is brown palette-worked hair woven in a basketweave pattern. The presence of hair suggests it was made to memorialize a loved one. This ring has been passed down the Keatings, a prominent, landowning family in the Mid-Atlantic region.
