Undergarment (Woman's undergarment)

Description
This linen undergarment was worn at the neck, for modesty at the neckline of a dress. The garment has a bias cut back panel and closes at the front.There are twill tape straps at the shoulders. The thread used is handspun. Similar garments were worn (outside of the Quaker community) during the 1840s-1850s and called a Chemisette.
