Description
A child's dress, made of printed cotton. The dress has long drop sleeves (embellished with self piping) and fastens at the back with one row of mother of pearl buttons. A ruffled linen collar is attached to the round neckline. The printed pattern is a figured check in blue and white. The waist of the skirt is split into tabs that fasten at the hip with tape ties attached to the interior. This may have been a design element to allow the child to wear the dress for an extended period through growth spurts. The hem is stitched with a machine chain stitch.
