Vest (Man's vest)
Description
A single breasted, cream colored vest of silk and wool. This is Quaker made and while designed with simplicity, the woven diamond twill pattern on the vest's shell is a decorative element.This was worn by a Quaker (Jesse Williams Taylor) and is labeled: "White wool vest worn by my grandfather Jesse Williams Taylor born 1816 - died 1905 (perhaps his wedding vest) married Oct. 6, 1846. MMA 1/2/57 (my mother E.A.Murphy)"
