Description
A baby dress, made of linen. Linen tape armbands are attached to the interior of a simple bodice made of cream colored linen. The bodice is constructed from two different pieces of cream colored, plain-weave linen cloth, the piece used at the back is coarse (in comparison to the panel used at the front). The long skirt is constructed from a panel of loosely woven (likely to be homespun) linen. That fabric is woven with blue and cream threads. The dress closes at the back with two sets of linen tape ties. The documentation that came with this garment (a tag written by a family member of the donor that says "Papa's baby clothes") suggests that this was worn by a boy.
