Description
A child's long sleeve dress, made of plain-weave cotton, printed with a small repeating blue and cream pattern of overlapping, stylized vines with graduated shading and stippled detail, The design of this dress appears to have a chinoiserie or japonaise influence with details similar to those found in tradional asian clothing: a high round collar (trimmed with a ribbed ruffle) and one of the front panels covering the other side and fastening at the front from the shoulder to waist with wooden buttons attached on the bias. The dress is lined with cotton, and although the lining fabric is printed with a brown and cream check pattern, the lining is attached with the wrong side of the fabric facing out.The sleeves are slightly tapered and terminate with plain cuffs.
