Origin Notes
The place of origin is uncertain; it could be Pennsylvania or Iowa. The Heisey family moved from Pennsylvania to Iowa in 1846. The "fancy" fashion was strongest in the 1830s, so it is likely that the coverlet came from Pennsylvania, before the family's move. Five other examples of this same pattern are undated and the origins are unknown.
