Description
This is a purse stretcher made from maple and brass. The two primary pieces (A, B) of the stretcher can be attached to the needlework with metal hooks and eyes to form a long, circular or tubular form. Inside each wooden piece is a crevice carved out to hold long wooden screws. Part B has a hole drilled completely through each end which corresponds to holes on part A that go partially through it. The wooden screws (C, D) are inserted through the holes in part B into those in part A for assembly. Iron pins set into A fit into holes pierced into B when the pieces are paired together.
