Description
This fragment of unglazed pinkish-grey earthenware is part of a vessel of a possibly circular but now unknown form. The exterior surface features a relief pattern possibly created by impressing with cords or a woven surface. The inner surface is undecorated. This object is most likely associated with the Hopi culture. As per the donor Mr. L. T. Alexander, the fragment was acquired "near the Little Colorado River in Winslow, Arizona, 50 miles west of the Petrified Forest." No details are recorded regarding the discovery methods used for this object.
