Description
This fragment of unglazed pale orange earthenware is part of the upper edge of a vessel of a possibly circular but now unknown form. The exterior surface features a shallowly-textured pattern, possibly created by impressing with a woven surface. There are uneven gray areas on the surface, possibly caused by exposure to heat. This object is most likely associated with the O'odham culture. It was acquired, as per the donor Mr. L. T. Alexander, near the Santa Cruz River in Tucson, Arizona. No details are recorded regarding the discovery methods used for this object.
