Description
This fragment of unglazed pale red earthenware is part of the upper edge of a vessel of a possibly circular but now unknown form. The exterior surface features a crosshatch pattern created by impressing with cords or a woven surface. Incised branching, lines are cut through this textured surface, near the rim. This object is most likely associated with the O'odham culture. It was acquired, as per the donor Mr. L. T. Alexander, near the Santa Cruz River in Tucson, Arizona. No details are recorded regarding the discovery methods used for this object.
