Description
This cribbage game board has a narrow oblong shape made from a longitudinal segment of an Arctic walrus tusk. The surface is decorated as inky black scrimshaw with flowers and two birds on the side pierced with holes for the game pegs and with fish and waterfowl on the underside. Its history is unrecorded, but it likely was created by Indigenous artists in Northwestern Canada or Alaska for the tourist market.
