Construction Description
Chemical analysis of the rag paper revealed that the linen and cotton fibers are sized with a mixture containing aluminum rosin, a process that fixes its date of manufacture to after 1830. In addition, the watercolor is of a transparent quality popular at the end of the eiighteenth century and throughout the nineteenth centuries.
