Cap (Baby's cap)

Description

A baby's cap made of linen. Plain-weave linen ground fabric heavily decorated with openwork (with inserted panels of netting) and embroidered leaf designs using French knots and satin stitch. The crown area is outlined with looped edging and there is a large eyelet (possibly a button hole?) at each front corner. The back of the cap is decorated with bands of circles (with inserted panels of netting). There are drawstrings to adjust the fit at the forehead and nape of the neck.
