Edition Notes
Probably part of a series published in France based upon English mezzotints first published in 1775-76 by Thomas Hart, C. Shepherd, and John Morris in London. These fictitious portraits were then engraved in line for a German publication, Christoph Heinrich Korn, Geschichte der Kriege (Nürnberg: Gabriel Nicolaus Raspe, 1777-78), and those images were subsequently copied as copperplate engravings published by Esnauts et Rapilly sometime thereafter.
