Description
Oval gold frame with hanging loop at top; small ball on top of loop; frame set with large glass on obverse covering a painted mourning scene on ivory; scene features a man and woman leaning on an urn-topped plinth under a willow tree; engraved around this scene on the frame is the legend "G. T. Reeder. ob. Sept\r 23, 1807.4 Years & 2months./Oh my child, thy death I err shall mourn." reverse set with plaited hair, within a glass-covered oval; engraved below is the legend "G.Goldie, ob\+, Nov\r, 791./ P. Goldie, ob? July, 5th 1782./J. Goldie, 0b August 31rst. 1796." Inscription reads: "G.T. Reeder. ob. Sep.r 23d 1807. Ae 4 years &2 months, O'my child, thy death I eer shall mourn." engraved around front edge. "G. GOLDIE, OBT, NOVr. 1st, 1791/P. GOLDIE, OBT JULY 5th, 1782/J. GOLDIE, OBT AUGST 31st 1796" engraved on reverse. Previously housed in 1959.746. (See Notes.)
