Description
The ring commemorates Henry Comrin Lloyd of Boston, who was born in 1772 but died in the sixth year of his life on July 13, 1779. He was the second son of Dr. James Lloyd (1728-1810) and his wife Sarah Comrin (1733-1797). The family’s prosperity and practice of funerary customs are visible in this memorial ring with an urn or vase made with human hair on a white ground surrounded by 25 small diamonds on a gilded ring with a white enamel exterior. The gold lettering in Roman font bears a memorial inscription: "HENRY COMRIN LLOYD OB: 13 JULY 1779 AE: 6 Y".
