Description
A long, one piece garment for a young boy. This is made of cotton dimity with a vertical rib, designed with front drop flaps. Closes at the front with five mother of pearl buttons at the waist and a smaller button on each side of the flap. Closes at the back with a drawstring at the neckline. Skeleton suits are usually two piece garments that button at a high waist, although early versions have been found that are in one piece. These one piece designs are believed to date to the 1780s-1790s. The suit is trimmed at the cuffs with an organdy ruffle.
