Secondary Origin Notes
The backing fabric is stamped "Walkill Sheeting". The Walkill River runs from New Jersey north and west through Orange County and through Ulster County, New York where it joins the Ronout Creek before emptying into the Hudson River near the town of Esopus. Various cotton mill were established in both counties.
The printed fabric was made in the United States or England in the 1830s.
