State II, Chaloner-Smith notes that the first state of this plate was by another engraver, that Smith reworked this plate for State II. State III is a further reworking of the plate and State IV is a modern version published by Boydell for "Illustrious Heads" in 1811. Very irregular impression, spattered ink throughout image and margins, probably from unsatisfactory "wipe" of printer.
