Edition Notes
Probably from "Boydell's Illustrious Heads," series of 1811. Some of Isaac Beckett's plates were obtained by his pupil John Smith, who in many instances erased Beckett's name from the plate and substituted his own (Smith, p.24). This appears to be the case with this impression. Later, Boydell acquired Smith's plates and reissued impressions.
