Description
This splint basket has a half-cylindrical form with one flat side and one curved side, which bulges outwards at the base. It has a single loop handle made of a curved splint that extends across the length of the basket. The basket is decorated with two green stripes, one at either end, which contrast with the natural color of the rest of the splints. The maker and origin of this object is unknown, but its shape and the techniques used in its construction suggest it may have been woven by a Native American artist.
