Approximate overall dimensions
The SRAL conducted quantitative and elemental analysis on all the features of this crown. See Conservation module for data. The concentration of silver, copper, (lead and gold) indicate the crown was created with a silver alloy at or above the Sterling standard (92.5) which Bailey & Co. advertised they used in the mid-1850s. Some surface areas (female profile) are as high as 95.1% silver. This may suggest the silver-enriched surface has only been lightly polished. [AWagner 7/2025]
