Description
One of four fragment single candle branches from a sconce or looking glass. Each has a scroll enclosing a flower and terminates with an electrified candle in a brass candle cup. Each branch has a right-angled iron mounting bracket for two wood screws and the electric wire travels through an applied knop above a plaster leaf that covers the bifurcation of the scrolling branch. These electrified candle branches were formerly numbered as collection objects 1970.1464.001-.004. They were deaccessioned and sold in the H. F. du Pont house sale in 1994 which described them as "a set of four giltwood scrolling candlearms" sold with an unassociated wrought iron chandelier.
