Description
This enclosed stirrup was made for a lady’s sidesaddle use. It is a Peruvian equestrian form intended to be visually and socially impactful as well as functional. Saddle stirrups often were made from base metals or wood, but this costly silver example is lavished with artistry. The slipper's toe cover holds a flowering vine encircling a bird and the footbed is engraved and personalized with the owner’s initials.
