Description
This cotton yardage was printed in the United States around 1830. The design, which is either copper plate or roller printed, depicts flowers and leaves in a bowl-shaped urn with ornate handles. The urn motif repeats in vertical columns. The print is exclusively in shades of black apart from the red flowers, making them stand out in the design. This object is one of a large group transferred to Winterthur from the American Textile History Museum when it closed in 2017.
