Textile fragment, printed

Description

This is a fragment of cotton chintz with a vine and leaf design. The pattern is printed in shades of red, brown, and blue and depicts a long vine with groups of leaves and red berries sprouting from it. The vine is bordered by vertical maroon stripes, with a smaller vine design printed in brown between them. This object is one of a large group transferred to Winterthur from the American Textile History Museum when it closed in 2017.
