Description
The B. B. & R. Knight Company, located in Providence, Rhode Island, manufactured this cotton fabric sometime in the first half of the 20th century. This section of fabric is the bolt end and includes manufacturer information stamped in blue ink. A circular logo in the upper left depicts a seated woman operating a sewing machine. The frame around the scene is made to resemble a belt and contains text reading “Finished Soft for the Sewing Machine.” This object is one of a large group transferred to Winterthur from the American Textile History Museum when it closed in 2017.
