Description
This cotton scarf, manufactured in the mid-20th century, is printed with two single panel comics by cartoonist Rube Goldberg. The comics originate from Goldberg’s strip “The Inventions of Professor Lucifer Gorgonzola Butts, A.K.” and depict his famous “Rube Goldberg machines,” complicated and impractical devices to perform simple tasks. This object is one of a large group transferred to Winterthur from the American Textile History Museum when it closed in 2017.
