Description
This souvenir ribbon, woven from fiberglass, was made on site at the Glass Center pavilion at the 1939 New York World’s Fair. The ribbon’s design is rather plain for a World’s Fair souvenir, but its novelty comes from its material, fiberglass, which would have been a new sight to most fairgoers in 1939. This object is one of a large group transferred to Winterthur from the American Textile History Museum when it closed in 2017.
