Description
This commemorative scarf is printed with green blocks containing images of Washington, D.C. and Virginia buildings and landmarks. According to text in one of the upper left blocks, this is a reproduction scarf “Reproduced from an Original Scarf Design” in 1933. The buildings depicted include the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, Mt. Vernon, Christ Church Alexandria, and Arlington Mansion. Blocks at the top and bottom edges contain the U.S. seal. This object is one of a large group transferred to Winterthur from the American Textile History Museum when it closed in 2017.
