Description
This sugar bag was manufactured by the Bemis Brothers Bag Company (later known as Bemis Company, Inc.) at their factory in Brooklyn, New York during the first half of the 20th century. The bag is a twill-woven cotton with two selvedge edges and two hemmed edges. It was made for Porto Rican American Sugar Refinery, Inc. and is printed with their logo in light blue. This object is one of a large group transferred to Winterthur from the American Textile History Museum when it closed in 2017.
