Description
Durfee Mills, located in Fall River, Massachusetts, manufactured this loosely woven tobacco cloth around the early 20th century. The cloth is a plain weave off-white cotton and has two selvedge edges and two raw edges. According to the donor, it was manufactured to be a bed covering. This object is one of a large group transferred to Winterthur from the American Textile History Museum when it closed in 2017.
