Pacific Mills

Description
Pacific Mills, located in Lawrence, Massachusetts, printed this special fabric pattern for the Bell Telephone Company around 1930 to commemorate the adoption of dial telephones. The design, printed in blue on white ground, depicts rotary dial telephones, switchboards with operators, and phone poles surrounded by phrases. This object is one of a large group transferred to Winterthur from the American Textile History Museum when it closed in 2017.
