Description
Although this dainty pitcher tested within acceptable silver purity standards for antique British sterling, the sloppy reattachment of all three legs and a solder in-fill on the lower body were not just standard repairs. Scrutiny reveals that original British hallmarks were removed from the underside of the body. The “Myers” mark stamped on the underside is a twentieth-century fake added to make this authentic cream pot into a forgery to be knowingly retailed by an antiques dealer in Philadelphia.
