Description
This leather strap came to Winterthur with a loom that had been used in Southeastern Pennsylvania for over two hundred years. It likely supported the beater. The leather has been cut in half lengthwise and stitched back to itself, forming a loop. One end is broken: this is likely one of many pieces that were replaced repeatedly as they wore out over decades of heavy use.
