Description
This is part of a shaft loom that was made in the late eighteenth century in Southeastern Pennsylvania and used there for over two hundred years. A simple part that could be easily replaced, it is likely much newer than the loom itself. This is a hook made from a single link of galvanized iron chain, cut and bent so that is forms one open hook and one closed loop. It likely was used to attach the treadles to the shafts.
