Description
A reed hook or threading hook, used to set up a loom for weaving. A reed hook is used to draw the warp threads through the eyes in the heddles and, perhaps, between the dents in the reed as well. This one is a thin, flat brass hook intentionally bent upwards about one third of the distance from the end. The hook is formed by a diamond-shaped notch cut into the brass rod. The turned wooden handle provides a comfortable grip, secured by brass fittings.
