Dress

Description

A child's dress, made of printed cotton poplin (tiny dark purple meandering vines with leaves on white/purple striped background) and crocheted lace trim on bodice, collar, sleeves and sash. The edges of the sash are trimmed with lace. Lines of white piping placed vertically along the bodice and in a ring around the collar.The dress has a long skirt. Selecting printed cottons for children's clothes was a way to mask the visibility of dirt between washings. Lace appears to be crocheted.
