Dress

Description

A child's christening gown made of cotton percale with bands adorned with broderie Anglaise (whitework embroidery and openwork), inserted panels of torchon lace, and ruffles adorned with broderie Anglaise. Each ruffle terminates with a heavily embroidered scalloped edge.The dress closes in the back with two tape drawstrings (one at the neck, one at the waist). The collar is trimmed with lace. A series of pintucks are set into the bottom of the skirt (in three sets).
