Description
This is a quilted silk petticoat, altered with modern construction to be worn with dress 2013.0048.018 A as a "fancy dress" costume. Cream colored silk satin fabric, quilted with whole cloth. Elements of modern construction include the organza lining, a new waistband, that has been split into two segments (possibly to fit a modern waist) and supported with bands of 1/2 inch wide grosgrain ribbon binding, designed to close (and adjust in width) with 1/4 inch wide nickel plated hooks and eyes. The quilted design includes a diaper pattern, along with floral motifs.

Measurement Notes
Width is difficult to measure because the modern alteration split the waistband into several segments and this would need to be hung on a form to get an accurate measurement. Measurement is taken at waist, but may be inaccurate by a few cm.
