Pocket (Lady's pocket)

Description
Two cotton pockets, joined at the top by a length of cloth tape. This is a double pocket and when tied at the waist, each pocket would rest at the wearer's side. Mark: a partial stamp in black ink (Part of a rectangular border) "PG" and possibly a stamped "10" in brown ink that is partially covered by the tape binding.

Dual pockets in this style and similar fabrics were used and produced in Europe and North America. The provenance of this pocket (if it came from the Castle Howard collection, where many of the objects in the 2013.0048 group were obtained) would suggest a European (and probably England) creation place.
