Description
A dress sleeve, made of green silk fabric with a compound weave and complimentary wefts. Lined with two types of lightweight silk: a beige twill and a multicolored striped taffeta. The sleeve design ends with a ruffled flounce, trimmed with two tiers of looped braid. The primary fabric is a "bizarre" patterned silk with metallic threads woven with a repeat vertical stylized design of large stylized flowers, leaves, unusual plants, geometric shapes and fences. Dress was altered during the 18th century; later disassembled; parts used for chair 59.69 upholstery by H.F. duPont probably in 1960.
