Partially painted by Audubon in Baltimore in 1834. A letter written by Aududon in New York, dated April 5, 1834, records: "I did next to nothing in Baltimore...drew only a male Canvas backed Duck." Low believes this is the male on the left, "the other two were cut out from other drawings and pasted on."
