Scissors are marked "Nogent" but may have been a replacement and this mark would not indicate the creation place (Nogent, France) for the set. However, this type of needlework box was made primarily in France and although unmarked, this box is most likely of French origin. The mother of pearl counters do have an asian pagoda motif, and may have been produced in China (may not be original to the set). More research needed. These kind of boxes were also made in China for european markets, and those have been described as having components that fit the fitted frames, but are not operational (mother of pearl bobbins that cannot actually accomodate wound thread, for instance).
