Elias Pelletreau (Maker)
May 31, 1726-November 10, 1810
As per Flynt & Fales, Heritage Foundation Collection, pp. 296-297: Elias Pelletreau was the son of a merchant, Francis and Jane (Osborne) Pelletreau. His mother died when he was eight and his father died when he was eleven. His stepmother, Mary Pelletreau, married Hugh Gelston, a business associate of his father. Between 1748-50 Elias married Sarah Gelston, his stepsister, who died in 1784. He remarried two more times. Elias Pelletreau was a Lieutenant in the militia in 1761 and a Captain in 1765. (L.
