Per previous cataloger, the horsehair fabric was made in England, c. 1800. However, the fabric appears to be very similar to a 20th century reproduction acquired from John Boyd of England c. 1955 and used on the chair in the Montmorenci Stair Hall V. (1957.0672-1957.0675). It is possible that this chair was also reupholstered with the same fabric as the Montmorenci chairs. (Sara Jatcko, 04/29/2009)
